Brightline:  Last week, we were happy to amend the budget to save city taxpayers $1.5 million for the parking garage between the Downtown Library and future Brightline station as a result of a federal grant. We also unanimously approved the final site plan, enabling Brightline to begin work on the station which is expected to open in the second half of 2022. More info here. Work has already been completed on temporary parking lot for the library, and we also look forward to completion in the coming weeks of the new Community Garden at Meadows Park – a larger and more central location for the city.
